Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Knowly ("Knowly", "we", "us") collects when you use Knowly, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: the email address and password you register with (passwords are stored hashed — we never store or see your plain-text password).
• Profile data: an optional display name and avatar you choose in your cabinet.
• Quiz data: the answers you submit and the resulting scores/result type, saved to your account so you can revisit them.
• Purchase records: which plan you bought, the amount, currency, and status of the transaction — not your card details (see Section 3).
• Session data: a random session token stored in a cookie so you stay signed in; we store only its hash, not the token itself.
• Usage analytics: lightweight product events (e.g. which quiz step you reached) used to understand and improve the product.

2. How we use it

• To run the Service: save your results, remember your session, and unlock what you've paid for.
• To process payments and prevent fraud, together with our payment provider, Paddle.
• To respond when you contact support.
• To understand product usage in aggregate and improve Knowly.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Payment data

Card and other payment-method details are entered directly into Paddle's checkout and are handled by Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record — Knowly's servers never receive or store your full card number. Paddle shares transaction confirmations with us (amount, plan, status, and a Paddle customer/transaction id) so we can unlock what you paid for and keep your purchase history accurate.

4. Who we share data with

• Paddle — payment processing, subscription billing, and tax compliance for purchases.
• Our hosting and database provider — to run the app and store the data above.

We don't share your data with anyone else except where required by law.

5. Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep account and quiz data for as long as your account exists, and purchase records for as long as needed for accounting and legal obligations. Deleting your account removes your saved quiz results and profile; purchase records may be retained where required by law.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email support@goknowly.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

8. Children's privacy

Knowly is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures (hashed passwords, hashed session tokens, encrypted connections) to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure — please use a unique password for your account.

10. Changes to this policy

We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever this policy changes materially.
